HISTORY
The African Educational corporation was established on October 27th 2019 during the first meeting of Nebraska friends of Kenya, but registered later on. During the winter season of January-February 2019, a group of Omaha friends of Kenya and Fr. Vincent Sunguti made a Mission trip to Kenya and that became an overwhelming experience to come to terms with a high level of poverty that many had never seen elsewhere in the world. When they returned back to the USA, they thought of ways in which they could share their resources from this country that is blessed with plenty. The formation of this corporation was therefore in response to those needs of many Kenyan young people yearning for Education in very poor village schools that were ill equipped with infrastructures, learning resources, understaffed among many other challenges.
OUR PROMISES
African Educational incorporation is committed to high levels of transparency for the benefit of the poor children in Kenya that we are geared to supporting. To achieve these values, all the donations money is banked here in the USA with 3 signatories to the account as per the by-laws of the cooperation. In Kenya, another account has been opened that has three signatories represented from the community. These monies will only be wired to a project after a thorough approval of the budget estimates presented to the committee here in the US and approved. There will be reporting and monitoring of the project that will be reported to the donors in order to enhance future support. Evaluations will be done on a quarterly basis to gauge our progress. Once in a year, there will be some external auditing done here and in Kenya on the indented project that is funded.
